What we collect, and what we do not

The product collects nothing. This website records how people use it, and anyone can opt out.

The product

The software you install collects nothing and sends nothing. It runs on your server, on your network, and contacts no external service at runtime: no analytics, no telemetry, no licence check. Content, screens, users and audit records exist only in your database.

It includes an optional visitor analytics module, which is how we measure this website. It is switched off on every installation unless you turn it on, and if you do, it records into your own database, from your own pages, and nowhere else.

This website, and our demo

This applies to signvero.com and to demo.signvero.com, which we run. They are treated as one site, so a visit that starts on one and continues on the other is one visit.

What we record about a visit

From the first page, we record how the site is used, so we can see which pages, and which of our adverts, actually help people:

  • the pages you view, when, for how long, and how far down each one you scroll;
  • which sections of a page you reach, and which links and buttons you click;
  • that you started or submitted a form, and how many fields it had, but never anything you type into it;
  • your IP address, and the approximate location it implies: country, region and city, never a street;
  • your browser, operating system, type of device, screen size, language and time zone;
  • the site or advert that sent you, including campaign tags on the link, and whether you have visited before.

If you sign in to the demo, your visits are linked to that account. If you request a demo, the request is linked to the visit it came from, so we can see which advert produced it.

We do not record passwords, payment details, the contents of form fields, or any part of a web address other than the page and its campaign tags.

Opting out

A notice appears on your first visit. Choose “Opt out”, there or at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, and we stop recording your visits and delete what we had already recorded about your browser. After that we only count the page anonymously: which page, on which day, where the visit came from, whether it was a phone or a computer, and the country, with nothing that could tell one visitor from another.

Cookies

  • sv_vid: a random identifier, so a second visit is recognised as you coming back. It lasts thirteen months and contains nothing about you.
  • sv_sid: which visit you are in. It expires after thirty minutes without activity.
  • sv_consent: remembers that you have seen the notice, or that you opted out, for thirteen months.

All three are our own. There is no advertising network, no social media pixel and no third-party analytics on this site.

Who else is involved

Cloudflare delivers this site and tells us which country a request came from. To find the region and city we look up the IP address with ipwho.is, shortly after your visit. Neither is given anything else, and nothing is shared with, or sold to, anybody.

How long we keep it

Visits are deleted after 90 days. IP addresses are removed sooner, after 30 days, and the rest of the visit stays without them. Anonymous page counts are kept for the same 90 days.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about your visits, and have it deleted, by emailing us. Opting out deletes it straight away without asking.

Demo requests

If you submit the demo request form we store what you typed: your name, email, and whatever else you chose to fill in, along with the address the request came from and the page you came from. We use it to arrange your demo and to answer you. It is not sold, shared, or added to any mailing list.

We keep those requests until they are no longer useful to us. Ask and we will delete yours immediately.
